My Very First Give Away!

UPDATE!!!! The contest is now officially closed. Because I am a dork but not a geek I cannot figure out how to actually close the comments for this so that no one can comment anymore. So, basically, if you comment after 6:00 PM CST it will not be counted.

Now... to get ready for the drawing...

PhotobucketI am jumping on the bandwagon! Head over to Bloggy Giveaways to see about 700 different blogs giving away really cool stuff! I decided to host my very first give away as part of this fantabulous carnival!

I just recently started to blog so there is not too much here but please take a moment to look around! Anyone with advice on teens, toddlers and newly walking babies is especially welcome! LOL

First, I will show you what I am giving away.... this wonderful jewelry and hairpick set handmade by my own very talented daughter!

There is a set of beautiful beaded hairpicks, dangly beaded earings and a beaded bracelet. I would have stolen the hairpicks and kept them for myself but I just got my hair cut! You can tell her how much you love her work at her blog if you would like!

If you would like to win this wonderful set of beaded pretties, here are the rules:

1. I will keep this open until Sat. Feb 2 at 6 PM CST. All entries must be received by then!

2. I will have my daughter draw a name out of a hat for the winner!

3. Open to anyone in the continental US. I am sorry but I cannot afford int. shipping! You do not have to have a blog to enter but make sure you leave an email addy so I can contact you!

4. Winner has 5 days to respond to my email. If they do not then someone else wins!

5. I will post the winning name on my blog by 9 AM Sunday morning.

To enter... leave me a comment on this post. In your comment answer one of these two questions:

a. Who are you planning to vote for in the presidential elections and one reason why. This is to help me make my decision. But, since this can be controversial feel free to answer the next one...

OR

b. What should my DH name his new cooking blog? See details on this post to help with the naming.

Entries without one of these questions answered will not win.

Ok! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you come again! Sometimes I am witty, sometimes I am just stressed out! Get to know me! You just might like me....

Hi! Beautiful jewelry set; I'd love to win it. I think I'm going to vote for Hilary, if she's still in the running. She's a woman who I know can handle the job, and it's about time we let a woman give that a try. Thanks and please visit mine too!

Ooooo, pretty jewelry.

I've been a staunch Republican for YEARS, however, I admitted last night to my family that I kinda like Obama.....

How's that for controversy! ;)

GREAT giveaway! I hope I'm the lucky winner!! :)

He should name his blog - " man's gourmet"

Anonymous said...

Gosh - I'm a conservative republican, but for the first time in my life nobody with a chance floats my boat AT ALL. Although I know it's a "throwaway", I'm voting for Ron Paul. He is the candidate who is most for a limited role of govt in our lives.

AND - I love the jewelry. Your daughter did a great job!

LOVE those hairpicks!

Vote for Mc Cain - he follows his beliefs and speaks them even if it may not be popular.

The Girl is so talented. Beautiful.

As far as voting for president I still need to do some research. Yesterday I found a spreadsheet that listed what the supported and opposed. Just based on that sheet I would say Huckabee but I am still up in the air.

I still can't think of anything catchy for the blog title.

Britni said...

I'm really not planning on voting at the moment because I don't know enough and don't want to make an uneducated vote. I'll come back and let you know when I've decided.

Jennifer Swanepoel said...

Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog. You left a comment that confuses me..you said, "TJ Maxx." Were you answering a question? I don't get it...

Anyhoo. We here in Florida had our primaries yesterday, and I voted for Mitt Romney because I like his stance on immigration and education, which are the two most important issues to me because 1) My husband is from South Africa and had a miserable time getting his green card due to all the people who come in illegally, making it a pain in the rear end for people who want to be responsible citizens and 2) I am going to be a teacher when I finally finish school, and the No Child Left Behind Act needs some reforming. It's a good idea in theory, but it's not working the way it was supposed to.

Hope that helps you out!

Jennifer Swanepoel said...

Oh- I just read one of your previous posts. There's a GREAT website that has a little quiz you answer and it tells you which candidate most closely aligns with your ideas. You can also see profiles of each candidate, and it has a lot of links to the candidates own webpages, which I found helpful. Here it is:

http://minnesota.publicradio.org/projects/ongoing/select_a_candidate/

Jennifer Swanepoel said...

oh, for heaven's sakes. It didn't let me copy and paste the ENTIRE url for you. the very last bit is

select_a_candidate/

Sorry!

Jennifer Swanepoel said...

I think I figured out what happened.. My blog friend "Damselfly" is giving away a TJ Maxx gift card. She said for you to read an older post of hers and leave that as a code word in the comments in order to win. Damselfly had a link to MY post in her sidebar, which is the one you clicked on, so I think you were trying to enter HER giveaway... lol!

Hannah said...

Magnificent jewelry! If I don't win would your daughter consider making more to sell to me? If I were old enough (I'm 16) I would vote for Ron Paul.

Anonymous said...

Two tough questions.

I would love a woman in office. I think it's more than time, but NOT Hilary!!

Obama scares me. He was raised Muslim, his parents are Muslim, he went to Muslim schools and he only recently converted. We are not a Muslim country and I am very concerned about the clash in religious culture and the message it would send to Iraq since, regardless of whether we like it or not, our country is still at war with the Muslim terrorists.

So that will leave me with the Republican side. I am conservative anyway, but we are not picking from great choices, only lesser evils as usual.

For the cooking blog, I do not have a name, but I look forward to a great food blog by a professional chef. I would suggest something easy to remember and say for good word of mouth advertising. Chocolate and Zucchini is a food blog that got great word of mouth like wild fire and became books in several languages because it was easy to remember and a startling combination.

Thanks for the chance to win this lovely set.

ahiltz said...

What cute stuff...my daughter would love it! I would vote for Obama. I can't get over the fact how Hillary lied about her husband cheating and the whole sleazy White Water scandal. Can you imagine what Bill would do or who he would sleep with if he is the 1st man?! Ack!!!! Watch out interns!!! LOL! Thanks so much for doing this!

Gorgeous giveaway!

Not sure who I am voting for just yet. I need to wait to see who is on the ballot in November ;) I have until Tuesday to figure out what to do for the primary. Looks like hubby and I are canceling each other out in the Democratic race.

To be honest, I'm not sure who I'm voting for! Either Huckabee or Romney? I was thinking Huckabee was the best thing since sliced bread because a lot of Christian bloggers out in bloggy world are so gung-ho about him but now I'm not so sure. Much prayer to undertake!
pretty sure this isn't the answer you want but it's honest anyway!

Well, I haven't decided about who I'm going to vote for. Kinda want to vote to Hillary, but the Bill Clinton/Monika Lewinski thing keeps coming to mind. But what in the heck was she supposed to do? Stand up in front of the entire country and say, "Yeah, I know he's a heel. He's not a nice guy, but I married him for better or for worse." I don't think I'd want to stand in front of everybody and say that. I'd stand there and lie also.

But I also can't come up with a name for your husband's future blogs name. I had a hard enough time trying to figure out what to name our children.

Brittany said...

I am voting for Romney. Initially I was a McCain supporter, but then decided to actually research all of the candidates. Each has different opinions that I value. I appreciate Huckabee's Christian values as well as Romneys. I love that Ron Paul wants less government involvement, and out of it all I found that McCain was definately not a conservative candidate based upon his past views and the bills, etc that he has supported. So, unfortunately, it comes to the other 3, and realistically Paul and Huckabee don't stand a chance. So I am voting for Romney. I appreciate his views on illegal immigration (coming from a border state) and love his stance on education. I have several wee ones about to enter the public school system. Hope that helps!
