Night Falls

forest

Fresh, crisp, green-growing scents of Summer...

Rain-dampened ground, cool beneath my feet....

Voices chirping, croaking, calling to me.....

Pulling elastic from my hair,

freeing strands to float in nightime breezes...

Floating softly, silently, sensously

through darkened air towards fields of fey...

Physical ties to a life that binds

melt unknowingly underneath...

Inclinations to wildness, wandering and flight

overcome hesitations...

A silent breath of stardust sends my heart soaring...

Wow, I love the poem, I can almost see you standing there in the dark taking the elastic out of your hair and shaking it loose. So good!

Physical ties to a life that binds...oh lord, I can relate to that. Beautiful words, as usual. From a even more beautiful woman.
