Mondays.... boring mondays....

Nothing too earth shattering going on her at the castle today. We have decided to not give the new meds to the Boy. There is no medical reason at this time to medicate him. I am going to keep track of his eating and weight. i believe I will start a food diary for him. But not make a huge deal out of whether he eats or not. Just keep track of when he is hungry. He has been eating like a hog for the past 2 days. Maybe it is time for a growth spurt? I don't know. We did discover that he will eat almost anything if you stick it on a toothpick. Kinda like on a stick. I know I will eat anything if it comes on a stick. You stick a turd on a stick and I will be hard pressed not to gobble that sucker down. Cause food on a stick? Very cool. Reminds me of the fair.

I am finally feeling completely well. The husband not so much. He is still running a slight fever. And The Baby is still suffering from on again off again diarrhea. Fun for the mommy. The Boy and The Girl appear to be 100% OK now. Hopefully this will be the last of the true yucks at our house for a while!

Jen's giveaway is still going on over at The Delusional. If you haven't popped over there, you should!

Hey! Kara over at Grace Under Autism! I have not forgotten you! Now that we are all officially well and I will not be shipping you flu germs, I will be sending your yummy chocolate goodness on over to you! Sorry it has taken a while!

And now.... off to bed. The tornado watches and warnings and penny sized and marble sized hail and 60 mph winds are gone for the night. Now I can relax enough to get some sleep maybe!

no worries, I'm not even done with valentine's chocolate and girl scout cookies. ;)

We keep a container of colored toothpicks for when the boys go through food strikes. Seriously, food on a stick is so much more appealing!

Hay, I think the food log for the boy is a good idea. You may find out he is eating more than you think by doing that. At least you can look at it and feel like he did eat something on a particular day. Your days do get rather busy! I also like food on a stick. What about carrott sticks, they can spear some foods and are good to eat as well. You can even get some all cut up in the produce section.

Now I'm hungry. You had to mention food on a stick. I was doing fine until that.

Hope the choice to skip the meds works out. I'm sure that it is just a growth spurt coming on, and that he will start gaining weight soon. Spear some crackers and cheese!

I remember Lil' Bum didn't gain a great deal of weight during her 3rd year. It seems like there was only about 5 pounds that whole year. she just got taller and taller.

I forgot to add that one of my friends got the best advice from her pediatrician. He told her to keep the food journal and then look at a week of food instead of a day. Because of kids fluctuating from day to day what and how much they will eat, a week is a better scale.

I TRY not to make food a big deal here. If they want PB&J for breakfast or like today salami and cheese or toast for dinner....what makes it any less healthy at the "wrong" time of day?

germs seem to be a constant this winter. Spring needs to come soon!
