Another Serious Post

I was playing around with the music on my site. The Girl was showing me different songs I had never heard before and the video below is to one of them. It is slightly graphic in content. It makes me cry. Make sure you go to my playlist and stop the music before you press play on the video. Otherwise it will be confusing!

You know how they have those commercials on tv about kids starving in Africa? And you always feel sooooo bad and want to help them? Well, I always think of THESE kids when I see that kind of thing. Right here in the good ol' USA there are children being abused, murdered, starving, homeless.... you name it. It is happening. And there are tons of resources leaving our country that are needed here. Of course I feel bad for the people of other countries who are having the same problems.

But does it make sense to put out the fire in your neighbors house while your own house is burning down behind you?

And then there is the other side as well. Can you ignore your neighbors house burning when it might set fire to your own?

What's the answer?

All I know is I hold my children tight and try to protect them as best I can.

Well, there are always two sides to every story that is for sure. I do get a bit ticked off with all the "nice people" from Hollywood taking all their compasion and leaving the country, to say nothing of all their money. Think of the good thay could do here as well. I know they give here too, but why is it that what they give for 3rd world countries gets all the publicity?

Well I won't share my thoughts on this post, I could go on and on. I have been in a situation in the past where I've been denied medical coverage for my children, had to pay for tonsils to be removed and yet I was reading articles on how this child was coming here to the US for free this and free that!!

But anyways while I am here I'de like to thank you for thinking of us and hoping for the best with Kachows appointment tomorrow :)!

This made me have chills. I had a bit of a long drive today. For some reason the whole time all I could think about was children that were mistreated. I just can't imagine.

This is a hard one and very well put my friend.

I think that our first priority should be the children in our own country. Like you said, it is all sad, but seriously, how can you help a in the next town when there is one next door needing help also.

Word! I can't tell you how many times I've had the exact same thoughts.

I do feel for the less fortunate countries BUT I do feel that we should work on helping our own starving children, underpriveledged children and working class families that just cannot make ends meet.

Personally I donate to charities that help our own problems rather than World Vision where it goes to another country.

You are very thought provoking lately!

Oh man - what a video/song. Heartbreaking. Truly heartbreaking that any child has to experience any of that. So hard to watch because it is too easy to keep your blinders on when you live in relative comfort.

I have a knot in my stomach also, though, because the first little girl depicted looked a lot like Bird, and she was only 2 years older. It has always made me sick to think that is happening to kids, but as mine gets to be the age of many of the victims, my reaction is much deeper.

John and I have been laughing about "Buisness Time" for weeks now. The YouTube video is great too.
