Stop Hitting Your Brother With The Rubber Chicken

Yes. That came out of my mouth today. LOL The boys are sooooo much fun. even when they are driving me crazy! Here is The Boy after his bath. He loves to cuddle in a towel and just relax.

So, of course, The Baby must ruin that for him! LOL Poor Boy.
Thanks to everyone for your comments on yesterdays post. I am in the process of figuring out WHAT I need in my life that will get me to my happy place. OR, what I need to accept about my life as it is. Yesterday was just a bad day overall. Thanks for the input and the positive thoughts and hugs!

Now..... guess what I will be making soon?

Yes! Banana Bread! Anyone have any new variations they would like to share? I have a tried and true recipe and one new one that I made not that long ago. I am looking for something so decadent and yummy that your tongue flops out and beats you around the head and shoulders trying to get more..... let me know if you have something like that! I think tomorrow is baking day. Of course, Gift of the Magi bread is so completely yummy I may have to make that instead. Think banana bread with cherries, coconut and pineapple. Yum.

I am, honestly, in a horrible mood today. I need more sleep. I could not get to sleep last night to save my life. I did have a little nap this morning, as DH watched the boys for me. I just need some caffeine! Or more sleep... I wonder which one I will get?

Yesterday, The Boy did something that I just do not understand. he has been climbing on top of his train table lately. Ok, he likes to climb. Every time I catch him doing it, I go in and make him get down. Yesterday, when I went in I found.... guess what.... in the drawer....

Yes, in the drawer to his train table he had put most of his train pieces and..... he peed on them. WHAT?!? WTF? WHY? I don't get it. I cleaned it up and I still don't get it. Is it a boy thing? Is my son just weird? What?

Anyway. In the same room where the train table is being kept, we also have.... our library! We will be moving the train table out soon. And then, I get to tackle another "little" project. Organizing THIS:

While some of the books are in some kind of order, most are just shoved on the shelves to get them out of the way. When we moved in.... I just wanted stuff unpacked. i didn't care where it went. NOW... when I cannot find my copy of Stranger in a Strange Land or Incubus Dreams, when I cannot find my Sewing for the Home resource book or my Bad Fairies journal... now is the time to get this taken care of. I just have to figure out exactly how I want to organize it. The Girl has 3 bookcases of her own. But my books keep ending up there, so I may just stop segregating them. Cookbooks have 2 - 3 bookcases of their own and that is hubby's job. He organizes those to his liking. So... that leaves me the rest. Quite a job, huh? Should I organize by subject only? By genre? By author? By author within genre? hmmm....

Wish me luck! If I get it done by the end of summer I will be thankful...

Oh my word look at all those books! That is a little piece of heaven :o)

We used to have quite a few bookshelves but when we moved we decided to weed through and donate a lot of our paperbacks.

I buy and keep anything by Jodi Picoult and James Patterson but the rest of the books I just keep circulating with friends and family.

Good luck with your huge task of organizing! As a librarian I'd have to say author within genre is the way to go :o)

1. I'm just tired of all the ass-i-tude I'm getting from my behind. You too?

2. There's a recipe for peanut butter/banana/chocolate chip muffins I can give you.

3. Being happy is all about state of mind. It sounds to me like you're talking about being fulfilled. I had issues being fulfilled when I faced that many diapers, and more laundry and more dishes and more dinners. I think you're on the right track in saying "this isn't it, but in 4 years, I'll have options then what". So you have a while to figure it out.

PS- I do tell the truth on my blog. If I'm riddled with anxiety, I say so. Fed up with my lungs... everyone knows about it. If I find I have to whitewash a topic or pretty it up, I just assume I'm not ready to talk about it and it doesn't get posted....

My mother would love to come to your house and use it for her very own personal library. I hate that I don't enjoy reading. I think one day I will again its just my brain is still on strike from high school and college. All the crap I had to do has ruined my love of reading.

I seriously think the peeing think is just a "kid going through potty training thing". He's not weird at all. Just a little boy.
Our neighbor shared with me her stress over her 8 year old peeing in his closet when they moved beside us. Now I know he's not weird either and there was a reason he did this but that is alot stranger than a toddler doing it.

The link bombed out. Go to noble pig, the post was on 3/23. It's called you'll never make another muffin. I made three batches in a row. The kids were fighting over them.

I have the BEST banana recipe in the whole wide world! My kids eat it and cherish it as if it were cake!!!

Ingredients

* 3 or 4 ripe bananas, smashed
* 1/3 cup melted butter
* 1 cup sugar
* 1 egg, beaten
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* Pinch of salt
* 1 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour

No need for a mixer for this recipe. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). With a wooden spoon, mix butter into the mashed bananas in a large mixing bowl. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in. Add the flour last, mix. Pour mixture into a buttered 4x8 inch loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour. Cool on a rack. Remove from pan and slice to serve.

All on one line of course, but it's too long for these comment boxes and I don't know how to link in comments! ;-)

Wow! That's a lot of books. We have the same problem. We sort by genre and if we have several books by the same author in that category, then we keep them together. Would love a library like you, but we have our bookcases scattered in the living room, dining room, family room and bedrooms!

My little girl loves to cuddle in a big towel after her bath, too.

I would LOVE to help you organize those shelves. Stuff like that is right up my ally!
