O Christmas Tree......

My family tends to be pretty nontraditional in most things that we do. We are just not big followers. Tradition is great..... we have lots of traditions.... just probably not the ones most people have! LOL

One thing we do a little different is decorate our Christmas tree. We decorate the tree with Star Wars, Star Trek and Lord of The Rings figurines. Also Dr Seuss and Harry Potter. Maybe a few ornaments from other space type shows as well. I do have some ornaments that my daughter made when she was little and some with special sentimental value and those get hung as well. But, the overall theme of our tree is space travel. LOL Lots of little spaceships flying all over the tree with a Darth Vadar or two thrown in for good measure!

We just like being different!

So, right now, we are int he process of putting together a playlist for the blog (and for Christmas!) full of highly humorous Christmas songs and parodies. We love traditional music as well.... but who can resist the redneck christmas song? Ha!

I will be replacing my current playlist with this version as soon as it is complete. If any of the songs are offensive to you.... I apologize in advance! Just hit stop and they will stop playing.

So, what are your weirdest traditions for the holidays? What does your family do that is just a little odd? What is your favorite Christmas song?

Trying to get in the spirit early this year.... LOL

Most annoying Christmas song that I listen to over and over is the Crazy Frog version of Last Christmas.

I'll have to think about my fave.

As for traditions we seem to have a thing about personal hygiene and family holidays. One year we waxed my dad's beer belly, another time we all did pedicures - guys and girls - or tweezing eyebrows - just the guys for that one.

Hmm...maybe I should have kept my mouth shut about that one. We're an odd bunch.

I can't say we do any "odd" traditions but we don't really keep with the "normal" traditions....at least I don't think so.

Favorite Christmas song? All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth and I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus

Christmas traditions... I bake, and bake, and bake... and then I bake somemore! That's how my family knows I've got my holiday groove on!

My youngest was hinting the other night that it's almost time to start baking!

I also start lying! A lot!

You know all our traditions but I think this is a cute idea. Do you remember the gum drop trees I used to make? You were little then. I like the Manheim Steamrollers Christmas stuff a lot.

I don't think we do anything odd really, but I like to change the look/color of the tree decoration every year which is silly b/c its not like anyone remembers what it looked like 365 days ago, right? lol

I'll admit that is rather strange, but I bet it looks neat! You know you have to post a picture of that tree, right?? And also, I can't wait to see your Christmas playlist. I need to get some songs and it's hard searching for them, especially when you don't remember what's out there!

I don't think I have any "traditions" so to speak, except that we decorate the day after Thanksgiving and have to take things down on New Years Day. Other than that? I don't think I have any!
