I Knitted!

Not a great pic but you get the idea! It's a washcloth. Knitted by me. My very first knitting project!! I took a class on Saturday and worked on this a bit over the past few days. Now I just have to practice and learn more advanced things and I am on my way! I really enjoyed the actual knitting. Which is good. So, look for occasional updates on what my knitting needles are up to...

Onto a completely different subject...

I signed Malachai up for school today. Well. I turned in his application for the Early Headstart program. His speech therapist and I are in agreement that he really needs some socialization. His speech delay appears to be because of learning to speak from his brother (who has a speech disorder) so we hope that being around other children who speak without the issues that Braeden has will push Mal to speak more clearly. Clearer. Whatevs. You know what I mean, right?

There is a new program about to start for infants in our county which he may qualify for. Otherwise it would be next year before he can enter the 3 year old program. IF he gets accepted. Please keep your fingers crossed for us!

I am exhausted. Again. It seems to be a recurring thing with me lately. Like for the past 4 or 5 years. HA! *gigglesnort*

I am planning out my giveaway and I know that it will include several handmade items and some special little things.... but I am not giving it away yet! I will probably plan on getting it ready to go and posting the official giveaway announcement in a week or so.

For now... off to watch some trashy TV, start knitting another project and put my feet up.

Tomorrah is anothah day......

Good for you! One of the things I want to do this year is get better at knitting. I bought Knitting for Dummies the other night. My daughter insists I'm not a dummie... maybe just in the knitting area!

Keep up the good work!

Hey, I'm so proud of you!! That's awesome!!

It makes me want to pull my knitting stuff out (all that great bunch of crap I bought to teach myself and never have). Don't we all have some form of bag like that:(

Great job!!

Oh, and I didn't know there was such a book as Jenny stated. I will need that one too :O)

ooooh looks neat! is knitting time consuming? or more relaxing? it seems like the type of thing you can do whilst watching the tv, right?

its good for dexterity and it makes some damn cute heirloom looking stuff.

Congrats on the kitting - my grandmother tried to teach me, but I just didn't stick with it. Love the washcloth!

Hope your son gets into the program! His speech will improve - my friend's daughter had a similar problem (she was homeschooled) and being put in some public groups/sports helped her immensly! Best wishes!

I've never knitted but years ago I used to crochet. I do love to sew and now I am starting to work on a quilt. With me, I expect thing sto be perfect, and even KNOWING my first ever quilt won't be perfect, I still get discouraged, ya know?

Love the color of your washcloth!

I think knitting would be so fun. I assume it could be very relaxing as well. Good luck on this new endeavor. I am learnign to sew and it is a very slow start. I need to just make the time.

I'm getting hits from your blog! yay! thanks!

1 problem, the feed you are using is wrong, it is to an old blog that I shut down a year or so ago. Is there anyway you can change this?

Good for you, I would really like one or two myself. I do have a birthday coming up! Good luck with getting Mal in school early, that would be great for all.

That is so pretty! You did a great job for just learning.

My son is also speech delayed...of course, he has autism. Fingers crossed Mal will get in the class he needs to get into.
